Smile is the  sixth studio album by American singer Katy Perry. It’s scheduled to be launched on August 28, 2020, by Capitol Records, three years after her earlier album Witness (2017). It’s preceded by the singles “By no means Actually Over”, “Harleys in Hawaii”, “Daisies” and “Smile”. Perry described the album as her “journey in direction of the sunshine, with tales of resilience, hope, and love”.

In March 2018, Ian Kirkpatrick introduced he had labored with Perry on new music. In an interview with The Fader, he acknowledged: “We did a few days and she or he is wonderful.” He additional acknowledged that working with Perry was “somebody I’ve needed to work with my complete life, and she or he was actually probably the most regular, no-ego individual.” In June of the identical 12 months, Perry was seen working with Max Martin in his native Sweden. In March 2020, Ryan Tedder revealed he had labored with Perry on new music for the album. In an interview with Official Charts, he defined: “I used to be working with Katy two weeks in the past.” He continued explaining how Perry was “in a very cool headspace. I’ve solely reduce one track along with her however I am in love with it.”
